Douglas Property Revaluation

PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF NEW REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY VALUES   

In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, the Town of Douglas recently completed a citywide appraisal for assessment purposes. The Douglas Board of Assessors announce that disclosure period for fiscal year 2023 assessed values is now through October 11th at 6PM. The fiscal year 2023 values, which are pending preliminary certification from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, reflect fair market value as of Jan. 1, 2022. As required by Massachusetts law, the fiscal year 2023 assessments are based on sales of properties during calendar year 2021.

The new values are available for review by the public during regular office hours at the following locations: Douglas Board of Assessor’s Office, 29 Depot St. M,W,Th- 8:30am-4:00pm Tue-8:30-6:00pm, Simon Fairfield Public Library, 290 Main St. M&W- 10am-5pm, T&Th-11am-8pm, Sat- 9am-1pm, and on the Douglas website at www.douglas-ma.gov.

Property owners who wish to discuss the assessment process, values and request changes in proposed values, or sales activity during calendar year 2021 should come into the Assessing Department at the Municipal Center or call 508-476-4000 during this disclosure period.
