UPCOMING EVENTS
June 15, 2023 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. It is up to everyone to prevent and address elder abuse. If you would like to learn more you can go to website for the National Center on Elder Abuse, www.eldercare.gov. If you believe that an elder person is in a life threatening situation contact 911 or your local police department.
JUNE EVENTS:
The center will be closed on Monday June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
• Wellness Clinic dates are Monday June 5th & Tuesday June 27th, from 10 am to 12 pm. Stop in the center to see the nurse, for blood pressure check, blood sugar check or just to talk about something you may be dealing with. Please call the center for more information @ 508-476-2283.
• Who’s who? with Chicken Divan lunch, on Thursday June 1st @ 12 pm. The cost for lunch is $4.00 per person. Come into the center and pick up a question sheet and return to the center before June 1st. You can answer some or all the questions, that is up to you. Please call the center to sign up @ 508-476-2283 by May 26th.

• Senior BBQ: on Thursday June 8th @ 12 pm. This event is sponsored by the Douglas Police Department. The center will close at 10:30 this day. BBQ will be at the Sokol Hall. The address for the Sokol Hall is 405 NE Main St. Please call the center to sign up @ 508-476-2283 by June 1st.
• BINGE WATCH THURSDAYS: Starting Thursday June 15th @ 1:00 pm. We will be watching, “Ann with an E”. This event will be every Thursday until we complete the season. This is a 3 part series about a plucky orphan whose passions run deep finds an unlikely home with a spinster and her soft-spoken bachelor brother. Based on "Anne of Green Gables.” Popcorn will served! You may call the center to sign up @ 508-476-2283.
• Park Ranger and Lunch: Friday June 16th @ 12 pm. The Sunshine Club is having a park ranger come to the center and talk about the Blackstone Valley area. The cost for lunch is $5.00. You may call the center to sign up @ 508-476-2283.
• LUNCH & A MOVIE: Wednesday June 21st @ 11:30 “Begin Again” A stuffed chicken lunch will be served for $4.00. Another excellent little feel-good film from writer/director John Carney. Keira Knightley is a revelation as Gretta, who meets down-on-his-luck producer Dan (Mark Ruffalo) after breaking up with her singer/songwriter boyfriend and sets out to record her own material with his help.
