FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Douglas Community Electricity Aggregation has been renewed through November 2025

Douglas, MA – (October 18, 2023): Douglas Community Electricity Aggregation is announcing the renewal of the program through the term December 2023 – November 2025. Most participants do not need to take any action to remain in the program and receive the new pricing for the product in which they are currently enrolled. Read on for more information.

Most participants in Douglas’s program use “Douglas Standard”, which offers the same renewable energy content as National Grid Basic Service. “Douglas Standard” participants will automatically receive the new program pricing on their December meter read. Due to requirements from the Department of Public Utilities, participants in the 50% and 100% renewable product must affirmatively re-enroll in a product of their choosing to remain in the program. To re-enroll or change your product selection, call Constellation at (833) 461-0813 or complete an enrollment form on the program site: MassCEA.com/Douglas.

Good Energy, the consultant to the program, will hold virtual public information sessions to answer any questions and provide more information on the renewal of Douglas Community Electricity Aggregation. These sessions will be held on:

The voluntary renewable energy content in the Program’s optional product comes from projects that qualify as MA Class I renewables and makes a sizable impact on the Town’s carbon footprint. Since Douglas Community Electricity Aggregation’s launch in 2016, participants have cumulatively purchased 90 MWh of renewable energy. This equates to avoiding over 68,620 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions cumulatively.

Over 3,000 accounts participate in the program, a vast majority of the Town’s residential, commercial, and industrial electricity users. Participants have collectively saved more than $4,500,000 since the program’s launch in 2016 (please note, future savings cannot be guaranteed).

This is a Town-operated program open to all Douglas residents and businesses. To join, complete the enrollment form on the program website: MassCEA.com/Douglas or call the program’s supplier, Constellation, at (833) 461-0813. Participants may leave the program at any time without fees or penalties. Visit the program website to review all program options available and to submit any questions via the program contact form: MassCEA.com/Douglas
